About

About The Ongoing.

One mind. A thousand interests. No particular destination.

I've never been particularly good at sticking to one thing.

Not because I lose interest, but because there's always something else I want to understand, something I want to build, somewhere I want to go, or something I haven't quite figured out yet.

One minute I'm thinking about aviation and what it takes to fly an aircraft. The next, I'm pulling apart some piece of technology to understand how it works. Somewhere in between, I'm experimenting in the kitchen, dreaming up another project, or going down a rabbit hole about something that caught my attention at two in the morning.

It's a lot, I know.

But I've come to realise that curiosity doesn't necessarily need a destination.

Sometimes, the point is simply to keep exploring.

So, what is this place?

The Ongoing is my little corner of the internet.

Part journal. Part workshop. Part collection of thoughts that probably should have stayed in my head.

It's somewhere to document the things I'm doing, the things I'm learning, the things I'm building, and the things I haven't even started yet.

You'll find stories about aviation, cooking, technology, personal projects, adventures, and whatever else happens to occupy my mind.

Some of it might be useful. Some of it might be interesting. Some of it might be complete nonsense.

That's rather the beauty of it.

There isn't a particular theme to follow, an audience to impress, or a carefully curated version of life to maintain.

Just an ongoing collection of experiences, ideas, successes, mistakes, and everything in between.

The person behind it.

I'm someone who likes to understand how things work.

I enjoy creating things with my hands, challenging myself to learn unfamiliar skills, and occasionally attempting projects that are probably a little beyond my abilities.

I'm drawn to the technical, the creative, and the adventurous.

I appreciate good craftsmanship, whether that's a beautifully prepared meal, a well-designed piece of software, or the extraordinary engineering that allows something heavier than air to fly.

I believe there's something deeply satisfying about getting better at something through patience, practice, and a healthy amount of trial and error.

I also have a habit of turning a relatively simple idea into an unnecessarily complicated project.

But where's the fun in doing things the easy way?

Why anonymous?

There's no great mystery behind it.

I simply like the idea of having somewhere to share my thoughts and experiences without making my identity the centre of attention.

I'd rather this place be known for what's written here than for whoever happens to be writing it.

Anonymity also offers a certain freedom.

The freedom to explore ideas, admit when I'm wrong, document failures, change my mind, and write without feeling the need to perform for anyone.

I'm not trying to become an internet personality.

I'm just trying to make sense of the world, one interest at a time.

Why "The Ongoing"?

Because nothing is ever really finished.

There's always something more to learn, another idea to explore, another skill to develop, another place to discover.

The person I am today isn't quite the person I was yesterday, and hopefully won't be quite the person I'll become tomorrow.

I like that.

This website isn't supposed to tell a complete story.

It's supposed to document one as it unfolds.

No grand conclusion. No perfect ending. No particular destination.

Just the ongoing.

Thanks for stopping by. Have a look around. You might find something interesting.
